Sea Caves
The sea caves are about 90' from the beach of Chorefto and are accessible only by boat. The landscape you will encounter is of indescribable beauty and will delight you with its deep blue waters and majesty.
They are located between the part of the Venetian beach and the old Metochi of Agios Nikolaos Flamourion. The sea caves are "furnaces" of the ancients, in the sea area of which, according to Herodotus, most of Xerxes' fleet was destroyed in 480 BC. Mythologically it was the base of Poseidon. The exoticism of the area is said to have contributed to the Nereid Thetis being pressed into the net of Peleus' love.
The largest of the sea caves is "the cave of Despotis", so called because it was regularly visited before 1905 by the Metropolitan Gregorios. Just above the caves there are remains of the old medieval castle that gave the name "old castle" to another area.
The sea caves are admired by thousands of visitors every summer and impress even the most demanding ones! If you are particularly lucky you may meet dolphins or seals "Monachus Monachus" since they find shelter there as well as in Alonissos.

BEACHES OF EASTERN PELION:
HOLY SARANDA
A beach of heavenly beauty on the east of Pelion, which is ideal for diving in the beautiful turquoise waters and relaxing on fine white pebbles.
In Holy Saranda you will meet the "Kalogeros", a high rock from which the most daring can dive.
AGIOS IOANNIS
Agios Ioannis is one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan beaches of Pelion. It will impress you with its white pebbles and crystal clear waters.
DAMOUCHARI
Damouchari is the only natural harbour on the southern side of Pelion. It is a small picturesque settlement consisting of 2 bays connected by a peninsula on which there are ruins of a castle. The northern bay nowadays is a small harbour with taverns and houses, while the southern bay is the beach of Damouchari that seduces with its crystal clear waters and white pebbles known as crocuses to visitors.
Damouchari is also known from the movie "Mama Mia", whose scenes were filmed on the beach.
FAKISTRA
Fakistra is one of the best beaches in Pelion. It is characterized by its wild and imposing beauty, its turquoise waters and the vegetation that reaches the sea.
MILOPOTAMOS
The most famous and perhaps the most beautiful of the beaches in Pelion. The turquoise waters, the fine white pebbles and the rock that seems to cut the beach in two create a magical setting that will be unforgettable.
